{"id":17786,"date":"2024-11-19T08:38:51","date_gmt":"2024-11-19T08:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gpt.m2mbeta.com\/?p=17786"},"modified":"2024-11-19T08:38:51","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T08:38:51","slug":"honduras-punished-after-mexico-coach-hit-by-beer-can","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpt.m2mbeta.com\/?p=17786","title":{"rendered":"Honduras punished after Mexico coach hit by beer can"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Honduras have been ordered to play their next home match behind closed doors after Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was hit by a full can of beer when the two countries played each other in a Concacaf Nations League match.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"\/sport\/football\/articles\/cdrd203451do\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">Aguirre was left with blood pouring down his face<\/a> when he was hit by the can as he approached opposing manager Reinaldo Rueda for a post-match handshake, after hosts Honduras won the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final 2-0.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Concacaf, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, opened an investigation and have taken action against Honduras for &#8220;failing to implement adequate stadium security measures&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The governing body added: &#8220;The disciplinary committee has also fined the federation and warned them that more severe sanctions could be taken should similar incidents occur during future matches.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Mexican football federation had said the behaviour which resulted in their manager being hit had &#8220;no place in our sport&#8221;, while Honduras manager Rueda said the incident soured his side&#8217;s victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Concacaf also added it was looking into &#8220;a separate disciplinary case investigating the conduct of Javier Aguirre during the aforementioned match&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The second leg of the tie is on 20 November, with the winner of the quarter-final qualifying for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup in Canada and the United States.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<hr style=\"border-top: 2px solid #ccc; margin-top: 20px;\">\n<p><em>Source: <\/em> <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/articles\/ckgl98g82vqo\">www.bbc.com\u2026<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Honduras have been ordered to play their next home match behind closed doors after Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was hit by a full can of beer when the two countries played each other in a Concacaf Nations League match.
