Terrell Edmunds<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>recently saw his second Steelers tenure come to an end<\/a>, but he may not need to wait long to find a new team. The veteran safety has a Tuesday free agent visit lined up with the Bears, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports<\/a>. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Edmunds started the year with the Jaguars, but he made only one appearance with the team. Pittsburgh added him off Jacksonville\u2019s practice squad in September, a move which allowed him to return to where his NFL career began. The former first-rounder spent four years as a Steeler, serving as a full-time starter during that period. Edmunds then split his time with the Eagles and Titans in 2023.<\/p>\n

Should today\u2019s workout go well, the 27-year-old could join a third team for the campaign. In the case of the Bears in particular, of course, a deal would allow Edmunds to play alongside his brother. Tremaine Edmunds<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>joined Chicago as a free agent in 2023, and the two-time Pro Bowler has been a key defender during his time in the Windy City. His 113 tackles last season were the second most of his career, and he set a new personal mark with four interceptions.<\/p>\n

Aside from a family reunion, a deal with the Bears for Terrell Edmunds would of course address the team\u2019s need for depth in the secondary. Chicago placed\u00a0Jaquan Brisker<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>on injured reserve last week, and there is a strong possibility he will not return in 2024<\/a>. Edmunds would not be expected to handle starting duties if he were to sign, but he could provide veteran depth in Brisker\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n

Chicago moved on from longtime safety Eddie Jackson<\/a><\/strong> this offseason, a move which came as little surprise at the time. The Bears have leaned on\u00a0Kevin Byard<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a starter in his first campaign with the team, and Brisker\u2019s injury has left the door open to more playing time for the likes of\u00a0Elijah Hicks<\/a>, Tarvarius Moore<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jonathan Owens<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Depending on how today\u2019s workout goes, Edmunds could join that group.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
