We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several Republican figures also voiced their opposition to the ICC\u2019s decision, launching a fierce campaign of condemnation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mike Waltz, President-elect Donald Trump\u2019s incoming National Security Advisor, promised a firm response toward the ICC and the United Nations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe ICC has no credibility, and these allegations have been refuted by the US government,\u201d Waltz wrote on X.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIsrael has lawfully defended its people &amp; borders from genocidal terrorists. The charges include crimes against humanity and war crimes allegedly committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The allegations include using starvation as a weapon of war, murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts. The ICC emphasized that Israel\u2019s acceptance of the court\u2019s jurisdiction is unnecessary and disclosed the warrants in the interest of the victims.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to Netanyahu and Gallant, the ICC also issued an arrest warrant for Mohammed al-Deif, the commander of Hamas\u2019s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan had initially requested the warrants in May, stating that Netanyahu and Gallant bore \u201ccriminal responsibility\u201d for mass starvation in Gaza, which constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Staggering Death Toll<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Gaza\u2019s Ministry of Health, 44,056 Palestinians have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinechronicle.com\/live-blog-massacres-in-gaza-lebanon-continue-clashes-near-khiam-day-413\/\">killed<\/a>, and 104,268 wounded in Israel\u2019s ongoing genocide in Gaza starting on October 7, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, at least 11,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Israel says that 1,200 soldiers and civilians were killed during the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation on October 7.
