{"id":18519,"date":"2024-11-23T16:19:09","date_gmt":"2024-11-23T16:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gpt.m2mbeta.com\/?p=18519"},"modified":"2024-11-23T16:19:09","modified_gmt":"2024-11-23T16:19:09","slug":"murray-to-coach-djokovic-at-australian-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gpt.m2mbeta.com\/?p=18519","title":{"rendered":"Murray to coach Djokovic at Australian Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Andy Murray will coach his long-time former rival Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open in 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Britain&#8217;s three-time Grand Slam champion Murray <a href=\"\/sport\/olympics\/articles\/c6p2yvv8lewo\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">retired from tennis<\/a> in August after a 19-year career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The pair will work together in the off-season and in the build-up to the Australian Open, which takes place from 12-26 January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Former world number one Murray said he was &#8220;looking forward to spending time on the same side of the net as Novak for a change&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Djokovic has won the Australian Open a record 10 times, including beating Murray in four finals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He and Djokovic had a number of memorable meetings during his career, with Murray beating the Serb to win two of his major titles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Djokovic posted a video on X of clips of the two, jokingly titled: &#8220;He never liked retirement anyway.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We played each other since we were boys, 25 years of being rivals, of pushing each other beyond our limits,&#8221; the 24-time Grand Slam champion said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We had some of the most epic battles in our sport.
