Time matters for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola<\/b> called on the German government to finally decide on the transfer of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As reported by a target=”_blank” href=https:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/ausland\/ukraine-eu-parlamentspraesidentin-roberta-metsola-fordert-taurus-lieferung-olaf-scholz-sagt-nein-a-ee26a376-b1a4-4543-915d-b8413fe0f185>Spiegel, she said this in an interview with a group of German media.<\/p>\n

Metsola noted that for Ukraine, \u201ctime matters\u201d, and Russia is increasing the pressure \u2014 there are only more air targets flying over Ukrainian cities.<\/p>\n

The debate on Taurus flared up again after the United States had lifted long-range restrictions for Ukraine, and in the view of the upcoming early elections in Germany. Leader of the largest opposition party, the CDU, Friedrich Merz<\/b>, who has a significant chance of becoming the next chancellor, is in favor of handing over the Taurus, and the SPD coalition partners are also in favor of the decision, but Chancellor Olaf Scholz<\/b> insists that he will not do this.<\/p>\n
