DARTS viewers were left in stitches after commentator Chris Mason poked fun at Prime Minister Keir Starmer during ITV’s coverage of the Players Championship final.<\/p>\n

World No1 Luke Humphries retained his title with an 11-7 win over Luke Littler<\/a> in Minehead.<\/p>\n

Fans were treated to a thrilling match-up at the Butlin\u2019s resort.<\/p>\n

And commentary from ITV duo Mason and John Rawling kept them glued to the channel.<\/p>\n

One moment in particular left viewers in stitches.<\/p>\n

During the fourth leg, the camera panned to a crowd member with a sign that read: “Littler for Prime Minister.”<\/p>\n

Rawling read it out live on air before Mason responded: “He couldn’t do any worse.”<\/p>\n

The former then quickly chimed in to say: “Steady on!” <\/p>\n

Fans loved the cheeky dig at current Prime Minister Starmer<\/a>, who has been leading the UK government for just four months.<\/p>\n

One person took to social media to write: “Commentator saying Littler<\/a> couldn\u2019t do any worse than Starmer as prime minister hahaha.”<\/p>\n

Another commented: “Just watching darts\u2026person in the crowd had a sign saying Littler for prime minister. The commentor said he couldn\u2019t be any worse. Lol.”<\/p>\n

While a third simply quipped: “Facts!”<\/p>\n

Referee has to tell the crowd to \u2018please stop whistling\u2019 when Humphries was trying to throw<\/span><\/div>\n

After winning the Players Championship<\/a> on Sunday evening, Humphries<\/a> said: “This was in my living room a couple of months ago and now I have it back.<\/p>\n

“I didn\u2019t feel myself this weekend. I was a dart<\/a> behind.<\/p>\n

“Luke drives me on, he makes me want to be a better player. I enjoy playing him.<\/p>\n

“I am proud that I didn\u2019t take my foot off the gas. It was a fantastic game again with Luke, he\u2019s a special talent.<\/p>\n

“Luke is probably the best player in the world right now. I told him I have to win these trophies before he starts to do so.<\/p>\n

“These big games are what I live for, dream of, and to be a champion is why I do this, why I travel the world.<\/p>\n

“I never give up. I know I can beat Luke. This is the best way to go into the worlds.”<\/p>\n
