Although the Republic of Moldova is a small country, it possesses enormous potential. By partnering with the European Union, Moldova is becoming stronger and more prosperous\u2014transforming into a nation where every citizen enjoys the security of a better life. Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba made these statements at the European Business Summit in Brussels.<\/p>\n

Leaders from politics, business, civil society, and academia gathered at the event to discuss Europe\u2019s key economic and political challenges and opportunities. It aimed to create a platform for public-private dialogue through policies that foster economic development and innovation within the European Union.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we are a small country, we have immense potential. We have a lot to offer the world! That\u2019s why we focus on creating a business-friendly environment: reducing bureaucracy, digitizing public services, lowering taxes, ensuring a skilled and well-paid workforce, and providing support programs for entrepreneurs. It aims to drive business growth, create jobs, and boost the economy. Together with the European Union, Moldova is becoming stronger and more prosperous\u2014a country where every citizen can count on a better quality of life,\u201d said Alaiba.<\/p>\n

During his visit, Alaiba met with several European officials. In his meeting with Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission, they discussed Moldova\u2019s reform agenda and trade relations with the EU. They also reviewed the \u20ac1.8 billion Economic Growth Plan, which aims to propel Moldova toward a stronger economy and improved living standards for its citizens. The plan emphasizes strategic investments, digitization, and a strong Westward orientation.<\/p>\n

Alaiba also met with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo, who supported Moldova\u2019s efforts. Additionally, Alaiba engaged with MEP Siegfried Muresan, a strong advocate for Moldova\u2019s EU accession, and later discussed with Estonian politician Sven Mikser the economic priorities for the coming period to accelerate reforms and development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
