Collins will continue to headline her weekly 9 p.m. show, \u201cThe Source,\u201d and take on the role of anchor and top White House correspondent beginning in January. According to the network, Collins joined CNN in 2017 and has covered a number of topics during the Biden and Trump administrations, including significant staff departures and significant policy choices. Just months before then-CNN Chair Chris Licht was fired, she held a town hall with Trump on the network last summer that caused internal staff resentment. Collins was first selected by Licht to co-host a redesigned network morning show, which was later discontinued while the seasoned news reporter was promoted to lead a prime-time show.
