As much as I love politics, sometimes it gets stressful, heated and overwhelming. America is politically <\/span>divided<\/span><\/a>, especially after the election.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes I want to live in a dreamland where there are rainbows and unicorns, and it\u2019s time I make an official government for my imaginary world. Here\u2019s who I would pick for some of the positions in the government. For consideration for the roles, all characters must be fictional and not exist in real life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

President<\/b><\/p>\n

Gandalf from \u201c<\/span>Lord of the Rings<\/span>\u201d <\/span><\/i>will be president. Everyone likes Gandalf. Gandalf is about <\/span>24,000<\/span><\/a> years old, so he\u2019s seen a lot and lived a long life. All of these life experiences will perfectly translate into the role of president. He\u2019s calm, experienced and wise.<\/span><\/p>\n

The U.S. gets invaded, and a world war begins?\u00a0 You shall not pass! I know Gandalf will be casting his spells and using magic throughout the presidency to run a smooth and successful country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vice President<\/b><\/p>\n

For vice president, I\u2019m choosing Harvey Specter from \u201c<\/span>Suits<\/span>.\u201d Specter has a J.D. from Harvard and graduated <\/span>5th <\/span><\/a>in his class. During the series, his character worked as a senior partner at Pearson Hardman. Throughout this experience, Specter shows he\u2019s dedicated and intelligent. His legal background would add to the position, as the government commonly intertwines with the law.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secretary of State<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m picking Queen Mia Thermopolis of Genovia from \u201c<\/span>The Princess Diaries\u201d <\/span>to run foreign affairs. She\u2019s learned from Queen Clarisse, played by Julie Andrews, in lessons of diplomacy, government affairs and etiquette. Besides being the ruling queen of Genovia, she\u2019s brave and smart and would be a great representative of the U.S.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Press Secretary<\/b><\/p>\n

I love Samantha Jones from \u201c<\/span>Sex and the City<\/span>,\u201d and she is one of the most iconic characters on television in my opinion. I know she would eat up a cute blazer and Manolo Blahniks and strut into the press briefing room. I think she would add some fierceness to the role and much-needed sass to reporters who overstep. <\/span>Additionally, in the television show, she ran an extremely successful PR firm, so there\u2019s brains to her beauty. She knows the world of PR and handles press on a daily basis. With her New York charm, she would be a spectacular press secretary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Secretary of the Treasury<\/b><\/p>\n

For this cabinet position, I\u2019m picking Alan from \u201c<\/span>The Hangover<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/i> Alan is played by Zach Galifianakis as he joins his friends for a bachelor weekend in Vegas. Alan makes $80,000 in one hour through card counting. To win that much in that time, one needs to be <\/span>$1,000<\/span><\/a> per hand when the count is in your favor.<\/span><\/p>\n

All of this to say, I want someone who can make that much in blackjack in charge of my treasury. The stock market crashed. No worries, just send Alan over to Caesar\u2019s Palace to earn a little money to fix it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Director of the Office of Science and Technology<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m picking Sheldon Cooper from \u201c<\/span>The Big Bang Theory<\/span>.\u201d Cooper graduated college at 14 years old and then began his PhD at the California Institute of Technology for theoretical physics. He\u2019s extremely knowledgeable in terms of the scientific field, and I have no doubt he would do a good job.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
