Fox News\u2019 Will Cain<\/strong> said podcasters like Joe Rogan<\/strong> have \u201cearned\u201d seats in the White House press briefing room following Donald Trump Jr.<\/strong> suggesting a major shakeup under his father, President-elect Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fox & Friends Weekend<\/em> co-host Will Cain<\/strong> joined Fox & Friends<\/em> on Wednesday to react to Trump Jr.\u2019s comments. The president\u2019s son said on his Triggered<\/em><\/a> podcast that he\u2019s discussed with his father the possibility of opening up the press briefing room to podcasters like Rogan and others.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had the conversation about opening up the press room to a lot of these independent journalists,\u201d he said. \u201cIf The New York Times<\/em> has lied, they\u2019ve been averse to everything, they\u2019re functioning as the marketing arm to the Democrat party, why not open it up to people who have larger viewerships, stronger followings?\u201d Trump Jr. said.<\/p>\n

Cain was all for the idea and argued podcasters like Rogan and Kelly could \u201cbuild out\u201d their operations. Both host podcasts and Rogan interviewed Trump for three-plus hours<\/a> shortly before the election. Plans for a similar interview with Vice President Kamala Harris<\/strong> did not pan out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cain said:<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty exciting, there might be a White House press briefing seat for the The Will Cain Show \u2014 The truth is though, most of us from The Will Cain Show to Joe Rogan to Megan Kelly, and so forth, we don\u2019t have large, built-out news departments, reporters and journalists set to sit in that room and I can\u2019t imagine seeing Megyn and Joe moving to DC and ready to ask questions directly, but they\u2019ve earned it. That\u2019s the point that I think is being alluded to here or we\u2019re getting to. As long as they want to invest and build out, they have earned it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cain then knocked Axios CEO Jim VandeHei<\/strong> for going off this week on X owner Elon Musk\u2019s<\/strong> hits on the media.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything we do is under fire. Elon Musk sits on Twitter every day or X today saying like, \u2018We are the media. You are the media.\u2019 My message to Elon Musk is: Bullshit! You\u2019re not the media, you having a blue checkmark, a Twitter handle ,and 300 words of cleverness doesn\u2019t make you a reporter anymore than me looking at your head, and seeing that you have a brain and telling you have an awesome set of tools makes me a damn neurosurgeon, right?\u201d the Axios co-founder said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cain argued people are more interested in hearing from more independent media in that press room than the traditional mainstream outlets.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat whole group, the one that has the 49 seats now, they have lost everything, every bit of trust through Russigate to Donald Trump to Covid and every other story. What credibility do you have that you think entitles you to that seat? And I think most of us at this point don\u2019t care,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t care what ABC or CBS or NBC have to say, but I would be interested to hear what a question from Joe Rogan would be.\u201d<\/p>\n
