Five people are in hospital after the fire at a takeaway in north London<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Five people have been taken to hospital after a fire at a takeaway in north London.<\/p>\n

It took 100 firefighters over four hours to get the blaze under control after it broke out at 03:45 GMT on Thursday on Seven Sisters Road in Holloway.<\/p>\n

Half of the ground floor of the building was alight along with part of two flats on the first and second floors, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is unknown but the brigade has urged people to stay away from the area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

About 100 firefighters tackled the fire at a takeaway on Seven Sisters Road<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said the casualties were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

They said: “We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team.”<\/p>\n

LFB said it received 19 calls about the blaze and 15 fire engines attended the scene including crews from Kentish Town, Islington, and Euston.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

At a fire in West Hampstead, about 25 people had to be moved to safety<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

The fire service also sent 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters to a separate fire in West Hampstead on Thursday which was brought under control at about 05:20.<\/p>\n

The blaze broke out at a end-of-terrace house converted into flats on Lyncroft Gardens.<\/p>\n

Part of the roof of the building was alight and firefighters evacuated around 25 people to safety, but there were no reports of any injuries.<\/p>\n

Station Commander Ken Spratt, who was at the scene, said: “West Hampstead Fire Station has been set up as a rest centre for residents affected by the fire.”<\/p>\n

The first call was made to LFB at 03:09 and crews from West Hampstead, Paddington, North Kensington, Hendon and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
