Apple just released iOS 18.1.1, but it\u2019s iOS 18.2<\/a> that will come with exciting image generation features, such as \u201cImage Playground<\/a>,\u201d Apple\u2019s image creation feature that creates cartoon-like images from text descriptions.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what you need to know about the Apple Intelligence feature, including what it is, how to use it, and when it launches.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What is Image Playground?<\/h2>\n

Image Playground is part of Apple Intelligence, a range of AI-driven tools from Apple. The new feature enables users to enter a text prompt, and the AI will produce an image that has a cartoon style.<\/p>\n

You can access Image Playground through the dedicated image creation app<\/a> or via the Messages app by clicking the plus (+) button on the left side of the text box.<\/p>\n

The Playground app is available on the Home Screen; look for an icon that resembles a white cat or fox (or possibly another furry creature; we\u2019re not completely certain).<\/p>\n

How to generate images with Playground<\/h2>\n

Using Image Playground is fairly easy. Similar to other image generators, there\u2019s a text input area where you can describe an image and allow the AI to create it for you, such as \u201ca dog blowing out birthday candles on a cake.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

If the results aren\u2019t exactly what you wanted, you can adjust the results with more detailed descriptions or choose one of Apple\u2019s recommendations. You\u2019ll see several image options to swipe through and select.<\/p>\n

You can also upload a photo of yourself, your pet, or a family member to get an AI-generated image of them, adding elements like a party hat for them to wear or a beach background. Additionally, you can change the art style.<\/p>\n

When does Image Playground launch?<\/h2>\n

Image Playground is part of the iOS 18.2 public beta. Anyone enrolled in Apple\u2019s beta software program can access it. The official rollout is expected in December.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
