Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru told reporters on Tuesday that North Korea fired multiple ballistic missiles earlier in the morning, following a launch just last week.
Ishiba said the missiles are believed to have fallen outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone, and that there have been no reports of damage so far.
Ishiba said he has instructed government officials to keep the public informed and take extensive steps to ensure safety.
