President-elect Donald Trump revealed two top Republicans won’t be joining him in the White House come January.
In a post to his social media website, Truth Social, Trump said the following: “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation.”
Haley was one of the many Republicans who vied for the presidency this past year, but ultimately fell short to compete with Trump at the Republican National Convention.
She previously served as a United Nations ambassador for the United States under Trump’s direction and as South Carolina’s governor.
Pompeo, on the other hand, previously lead the CIA as its director and as the secretary of state in Trump’s first presidency.
“I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country,” Trump wrote in the post.
He concluded the post with his traditional, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Haley responded to his announcement on X, formally known as Twitter. She said, “I was proud to work with President Trump defending America at the United Nations. I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years.”
Pompeo, USA Today said, has yet to respond Trump’s new plan for the White House after “Pompeo’s name was floated as an option for the next secretary of defense.”
Trump selected Susie Wiles as his next chief of staff, making her the first woman to hold the position, AP reported.
