Wisconsin Senate Candidate Eric Hovde Questions Election Integrity After Late-Night Ballot Dump

Allegations of Voting Irregularities

Hovde highlighted stark inconsistencies in the election data. “Statistically, this outcome seems improbable, as it didn’t match the patterns from same-day voting in Milwaukee, where I received 22% of the votes,” he said. He pointed to reports of precincts allegedly showing voter turnout exceeding 150% of registered voters, a figure he described as deeply troubling.

He also questioned how Vice President Kamala Harris could receive nearly the same number of votes in Milwaukee as Joe Biden did in 2020, despite a significant decline in registered voters and early voting participation. “This was accomplished by same-day registration that surged by almost 50% on a rainy day,” Hovde stated, further emphasizing the improbability of such a scenario.

Claims of Deceptive Tactics

Hovde accused Democrats of employing deceptive tactics to siphon votes away from his campaign, alleging they funded a false “America First” candidate, Thomas Liger, to confuse voters. “Liger received 28,724 votes due to this deception,” he claimed. Additionally, Hovde pointed to mailers and digital campaigns supporting libertarian candidate Phil Anderson, who garnered 42,344 votes, as another strategy aimed at splitting the conservative vote.

“These deceptive tactics are not just dishonest—they undermine the democratic process. Confidence in our elections is essential to a functioning democracy,” Hovde said.

Election Commission Criticism

Hovde also criticized the Wisconsin and Milwaukee election commissions for failing to address inaccuracies in voter rolls. “We currently have almost 8 million registered voters on our rolls with only 3.5 million active voters,” he noted, calling this discrepancy a serious lapse in ensuring fair and accurate elections. He accused election officials of neglecting their duties, further eroding public trust in the process.

Looking Ahead

While Hovde has not yet announced his next steps, he emphasized the need to restore confidence in the electoral process. “Throughout my campaign, I’ve emphasized the need to come together, restore trust in our elections, reduce divisions, and focus on building a better Wisconsin for everyone,” he said. “Once the final information is available and all options are reviewed, I will announce my decision on how I will proceed.”

The controversy surrounding Hovde’s race echoes broader concerns over election integrity nationwide, with Republican candidates often citing late-night ballot shifts as a key issue. Earlier this month, Wisconsin Democrat Party Chair Ben Wikler hinted at a “Red Mirage” followed by a late-night “Blue Shift,” a sequence that unfolded eerily similar to the events Hovde described.

As the final canvass nears completion, Wisconsin’s electoral process is under intense scrutiny, with voters and candidates alike demanding answers to ensure transparency and fairness.
