On Wednesday, November 13, US President-elect Donald Trump met with the current leader of the country, Joe Biden, at the White House. The latter noted the importance of supporting Ukraine for US national security.

Biden will continue to make the case for assistance to Ukraine both privately and publicly. US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters about this at a briefing at the White House, Voice of America reports.

“President Biden emphasized the view that continued United States support for Ukraine is in the best interest of our national security,” he said.

Sullivan explained that one of the reasons for this administration’s position is the belief that “a strong, stable Europe, standing up to aggressors and dictators, fighting back against aggression is vital to ensuring that we do not become directly involved in war.”

This has already happened twice on the European continent in the last century.

The adviser also emphasized that American investment in Ukraine is not just money that is taken from taxpayers and transferred to another country. These hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars are invested in the work of Americans producing American weapons that are sent to Ukraine.

“The American weapons we are building are to expand our own industrial base and our own military capabilities to deter other adversaries around the world,” the official added.

He emphasized that during the transition period, the responsibility of the national security team is to convey to the new team the information that is available today and to prepare Ukraine for possible negotiations.

The priority, Sullivan said, is “to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position on the battlefield, so that Ukraine is in the strongest possible position at the table while the agreement is being negotiated.”

Let us remember: during the meeting between Trump and Biden, they discussed the transfer of power. The Democrat promised that it would take place smoothly. He assured that he will do everything possible to make sure that you are comfortable addressing the President-elect.

As OBOZ.UA reported:

– Newly elected US President Donald Trump will appoint a new head of National Intelligence. The department will be headed by former Democrat and now Republican Tulsi Gabbard, known for promoting the Kremlin’s IPSO on biological laboratories in Ukraine.

– Trump also announced that he is nominating Republican Senator from Florida Marco Rubio for the post of Secretary of State. In April, the senator voted against allocating $61 billion to Ukraine.
