WASHINGTON (TNND) — President-elect Donald Trump picked his White House Press secretary on Friday.
Karoline Leavitt who was Trump’s campaign national press secretary was selected.
Trump wrote that Leavitt did a “phenomenal job” on the “historic campaign.”
“Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again,” Trump said in a news release.
Trump’s announcement comes after his attorney Alina Habba addressed rumors that she was being considered for the press secretary role.
Leavitt joined The National News Desk throughout the election to discuss Trump’s campaign.
The 27-year-old previously served as Trump’s assistant press secretary during his first term in the White House.
