A former New Hampshire candidate for Congress will serve as the next White House press secretary.Karoline Leavitt will be White House press secretary for President-elect Donald Trump’s new administration, Trump announced Friday night.“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary,” Trump said in a statement. “Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again.”Leavitt, 27, will be the youngest White House press secretary ever.Leavitt previously worked as Trump’s assistant press secretary during his first administration and later as communications director for U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik. In 2022, Leavitt won the Republican nomination in the 1st Congressional District before Rep. Chris Pappas defeated her in the general election. Leavitt previously worked as Trump’s assistant press secretary during his first administration and later as communications director for U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik.
