Prime Minister Edi Rama Unveils Spring Bonus for Pensioners Alongside Year-End Payment

In a statement delivered today in Parliament, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that, in addition to the customary year-end bonus, the government will introduce a second bonus in the spring of 2025.

While discussing the national budget for 2025, Rama explained that a dedicated fund for the spring bonus would be established at the Bank of Albania in the early days of December.

“Following the tripling and doubling of the year-end bonus, we will also create the spring bonus fund at the Bank of Albania, which will provide a significant boost to the annual incomes of pensioners,” said Rama.

The spring bonus will be distributed each year at the beginning of spring and will be based on the country’s economic growth from the previous year.

Rama highlighted that these two annual bonuses, combined with the automatic yearly pension indexation to match inflation, will allow pensioners to directly benefit from Albania’s economic growth as the country moves closer to EU membership within the decade.
