President-elect Donald Trump has been putting together his cabinet and senior staff, and there have been some eye-raising nominations.
He’s tabbed Matt Gaetz, a former Congressman with limited legal experience who faced allegations of sexual misconduct, to be his attorney general. He has selected Fox News host Pete Hegseth, who faces his own sexual misconduct allegation, to be the secretary of defense. Trump has picked Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic Congresswoman who is prone to conspiracy theories and has espoused sympathetic views of Russia, to lead the U.S. intelligence services. And he’s put forward Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a vaccine skeptic, to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
It just goes to show that any old turkey can get a cabinet nomination.
