Kendriya Sainik Board has invited applications under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS), from eligible wards/ widows of Ex-servicemen (Army/Navy/Airforce) and Ex-Indian Coast Guard personnel pursuing Professional or Technical Degree Courses, as per list of approved courses available at Kendriya Sainik Board website https://www.ksb.gov.in/
The scheme will be applicable only to those students who have joined the Professional/Technical Courses in the Academic Year 2024-25.

A total of 5500 wards/ widows of Ex-servicemen will be selected for scholarship in each academic year. Scholarships are equally divided amongst boys and girls (2750 each). Scholarships are paid for a period of two to five years as per the duration of the courses approved by the concerned government regulatory bodies. Scholarship amount is paid annually to the selected students.
Amount of Scholarships is Rs. 30,000/- per annum for boys (Rs. 2500/- p.m.) and Rs. 36,000/- per annum for girls (Rs. 3000/- p.m.).
Eligibility: Students should be Dependent Wards/ Widows of Ex-servicemen & Ex-Coast Guard personnel. Wards of Civilians including Para Military Personnel are not eligible.
Students should have taken admission in 1st year during 2024-25 (except Lateral Entry) to be eligible to apply for PMSS. Students should have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ)-10+2/ Diploma/ Graduation. Students studying in 2nd or subsequent years are not eligible.
Eligible Courses: · PMSS can be availed by student for one course only. Applicant should have been admitted to· First Professional Degree Courses including integrated degree courses as per PMSS approved list of courses like BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, B.Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, BA.LLB, etc. duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, such as the All India Council for Technical Education, National Medical Commission, UGC etc. The full list of eligible courses is given at https://online.ksb.gov.in/eligible-courses.htm
Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ): MBBS -10+2; BE/B Tech-10+2 / Diploma, B.Ed and MBA- Graduation. A candidate must have minimum 60% marks in MEQ to apply for PM Scholarship Scheme. All subjects will be taken for calculation of 60% marks including optional subjects also. If marks and CGPA are mentioned in the mark sheet, then the marks will be taken for calculation of percentage. If only CGPA/grade points are mentioned in the mark sheet, the student is required to upload the university issued percentage conversion formula along with mark sheet.
Selection of candidates seeking PMSS for pursuing dual degree integrated courses: Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) will be 10+2. Scholarship will be paid for the full duration of the course except internship period as per PMSS approved list of courses.
Master Degree Courses are not eligible for PMSS except MBA / MCA Courses. · Students studying abroad are not eligible for this scheme. · No distance learning/vocational course is permitted under PMSS.
Priority for Grant of Scholarship: The following Category wise priority will be follows for the award of Scholarships: (i) Category 1 – Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel killed in action (ii) Category 2 – Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel disabled in action and boarded out of service with disability attributable to Military/ Coast Guard service (iii) Category 3 -Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel who died while in service for causes attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service (iv) Category 4 -Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel disabled in service with disability attributable to Military/ Coast Guard Service (v) Category 5 -Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel in receipt of gallantry awards (vi) Category 6 -Wards / Widows of ESM/ Ex-Coast Guard personnel (PBOR Only).

After Scrutiny of applications, merit list will be generated as per priority for grant of scholarship (Category 1 to 6) and subject to percentage of marks obtained in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ). Separate list is prepared for male and female students.
