JTC Appointment Process Underway

Minister Maris revealed that the selection of Thai representatives for the JTC remains under review, with potential additions to the committee being considered. While no timeline has been set for submitting the appointments to the Cabinet, he assured that efforts are being made to finalize the process promptly.

No Official Request from Yingluck

Addressing speculation that former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra plans to return to Thailand, Minister Maris confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not received any formal communication on the matter. He added that the Prime Minister has not raised any concerns or directives related to Yingluck’s potential return.

Thaksin’s Citizenship Questioned

When asked about allegations that Thaksin Shinawatra holds dual citizenship, potentially affecting his eligibility to participate in election-related activities, the minister stated he had no information on Thaksin’s citizenship status. He declined to comment further, citing other commitments.
